GYM REOPENING

We are reopening Markham Martial Arts on July 19, 2021 after a temporary closure due to COVID-19.

The well-being of our members and community are of the utmost importance and we have employed numerous measures to ensure your safety. As a result of COVID-19, we have implemented best cleaning practices in order to protect the health of all those visiting our facility.

SAFETY & CLEANING PRACTICES

The following protocols are now in place to ensure the health & safety of all our patrons:

Prior to reopening, the gym will undergo an extensive deep clean of the entire facility
We have invested in a medical grade ULV disinfection system
Cleaning all surfaces, floors and equipment with disinfectant
Touch free hand sanitizer units
Cleaning time allotted in between each class to disinfect and sanitize in order to prepare for the next group
Procured a non-contact digital infrared forehead thermometer to check each member upon entry

ONLINE BOOKING

All visits to the gym must be pre-booked online, walk-ins are currently not permitted. The advantages to online bookings are:

Guaranteed and reserved spot for members
Ensures we are enforcing and following capacity restrictions that limits the amount of people in each class
Aids in facilitating physical distancing measures and reducing potential COVID-19 spread

These measures will remain in place until further directive is given by the government of Ontario and MTO (Muay Thai Ontario).

YOUR VISIT

In order to secure the health & safety of our patrons, we require the strict adherence of the following processes:

Prior to the class start time, members are required to line-up outside the front entrance maintaining six feet distance between each person
Before entry, each person will be asked a series of pre-screening questions and temperature taken to ensure no fever is present
Each member will be assigned a box for their belongings which they will take with them to a designated workout station.
In order to prevent cross contamination, training gear (eg. boxing gloves, wraps, shin pads) are not to be loaned or shared. Students must use their own personal gear, if you arrive with none we have them available for purchase.
After class is completed, students will be required to wipe down their equipment. Disinfectant and wipes to be provided.
Staff will complete a full cleaning in preparation for the following class

**PLEASE NOTE DUE TO STRICT CAPACITY RESTRICTIONS, ALL GUESTS AND NON-BOOKED MEMBERS ARE NOT PERMITTED IN THE FACILITY. PARENTS AND GUARDIANS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO REMAIN INSIDE THE GYM WHILE THE KIDS CLASSES ARE IN SESSION. WE SINCERELY APOLOGIZE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE .**

MEMBERSHIPS

Markham Martial Arts temporarily closed on April 3, 2021 as per the government mandated COVID-19 shutdown. All gym memberships have since been suspended. Effective July 19, 2021 all existing memberships will resume.
